HOW DO I STOP BEING LAZY AND PROCASTINATING

Yes, the art of procrastination. I believe most of us are having this common problem and always trying to avoid doing whatever you are supposed to be doing, and end up spending time doing "easier" work like sleeping (Isn't sleeping considered to be one of the most divine things in the world?) or escaping via TV, blogs or music. Although procrastination is not that healthy for you, I'd like to think that cutting yourself some slack isn't such a bad thing. Yeah, of course I procrastinate too. I do it all the time. The excuse I give myself comes from the quote, "Time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time."- Marthe Troly-Curtin. Sounds legit, right? If a project due on Monday, I would waste time until it's last day to work on it. I know it's the same for most of us, we procrastinate easily when we know we still have a lot of time. However, if you want to stop procrastinating, here I want to share three simple tricks with you.

First, the hardest part of doing anything is getting started. So why don't just tell yourself just sit there and just focus for 15 minutes. Yes, just 15 minutes. Don't think about finishing the whole paper, just focus on writing a few lines of it. Don't think of running for an hour, just focus on the first few steps. For 15 minutes, if you just get yourself going everything else comes naturally. So, just set a small goal and work on it for 15 minutes. By doing this, you will feel easier to accomplish that and feel less pressure while doing it.

Second tips on helping you stop procrastination is setting a reward for yourself. For example, sometimes when I really don't want to work on something, I will set a little reward to motivate myself. If I have a project due on Monday, I will tell myself if I can finish like half of the project, I will reward myself a pair of new shoes! Of course, you can set a reward whatever you want. And guess what? My mind is so set on the reward, and it works so well on me.

Lastly, use deadlines to motivate yourself. I don't know about you but this seems work so well on me. Just set a personal deadline before the actual deadline. Using this way, you will still have the rush of the deadline without actually missing the deadline.

Okay, that's all about for today. And I hope you find this post interesting and relatable. If you have any good tips on stopping procrastination, please leave all those in the comment section down below.
