Setting goals plays a big part not only in my life but everyone’s life. Especially when you’re in your 20s and 30s, where your is gonna be a roller coaster ride. Setting goals is important because it makes me proud of what I managed to accomplish and also realize the significance and importance of goal-setting and apply this knowledge in my life. But as enthusiastic and consistent as we are in setting goals, we are often just as consistent in not following through on actually achieving those goals. Therefore, I’ve started to make it a practice to write down my goals whenever I think of one and pin it up on my working desk. This way, I’m able to better evaluate my progress and development.

Bear in mind that one goal isn’t good enough. Some goals take longer to achieve than others and if you spend years working toward only one objective, you’re likely to get discouraged when it doesn’t happen right away.

Today, I’m going to be talking about the goals that I’ve set for myself and share it with you guys, hopefully it will give you guys some inspiration in setting goals in YOUR life.

Learn French from scratch
For those who are close to me, they know how hard I’m trying to learn French. I’m doing my best to master the basics of the language. It really takes a lot of hard work and dedication to learn a language that is so foreign to me. I can’t wait till the day where I’ll be able to speak French fluently because being fluent in a foreign language offers numerous benefits and opportunities. For example, I finally managed to be a fashion buyer although I'm still not fluent enough in French. I can travel around the world seeking for emerging designer brands and meeting so many awesome people around the world. The best part of learning a new language is it allows you to access many different cultures across the world.

Boost my financial stability
Before stepping into the big THREE OH(30), I want and I must be financially independent. I want to be able to support myself fully without having any burden on my back. I wouldn’t say I want an easy life(because I still want to strive) but I would want to live comfortably. To better say it, I want money to work for money and not me working for money.

Write posts to better satisfy my readers
As a blogger, I figured that if I want to attract more readers and make money out of it, I need to write posts that are not only interesting to read but also cater to my reader’s needs. Making money is crucial but I still insist on writing the posts that could really help and inspire my readers. A close friend of mine once gave me a good piece advice, he said : You don't have to be everyone's favorite blog, but you have to be someone's favorite blog.

Start eating healthy.
Let's be honest, we all know this is not an easy goal. Why? Because of all the mouth watering delicacies we have in our country. Forget the mains. The junk food is bad enough for our health. We all snack, don’t we? Recently, I've started eating healthier that require the least of effort, like drinking more water and choosing whole grains over refined. I know its not much but I’ll slowly improve from here. You guys should too!

Stop seeking for people's approval.
I believe this is the most important yet hardest goal to achieve not only for me but for all of you. Its about time I learn how to let go of the need of social approval. In the world that we’re living in, we tend to seek approval because we think we are not worthy of simply being ourselves but we forgot that it is actually what makes us lose what is best about ourselves – our individuality. Social opinion plays an important role in our lives, but are we changing ourselves too much in order be  ‘accepted’ instead of simply being ourselves? I do not want to change myself. I love being myself. You should too. Its just a phase that we somehow have to go through but will get over with so the question is, will any of you achieve this goal with me?

Till then!

  1. Why didn't I come across this post last year?! I resonate most with the last goal - to not seek approval and accept myself. And fyi, you guys have been my favourite bloggers for years! <3
