PFW DIARY : YOHJI YAMAMOTO FALL/WINTER 2016

Paris, France

Let’s go back to Paris Fashion Week. During the first day of PFW, we had the most insane schedule planned out. As we mentioned in our previous post, we were attending three shows in a day. So after Rick Owens, we still had a few hours to catch some much needed rest back at our apartment. After re-energising, we changed our outfits and got ready for the next show - Yohji Yamamoto.

Yohji Yamamoto was one of the brands that we were dying to attend, so much so that we kept the invitation cards just because the “card” was actually an apron. It was too cool to get rid of! For Yohji Fall/Winter 2016 eponymous collection, the designer set all sights on layering and mammoth silhouettes, recalling a mother piling clothes on a small child to battle the punishing winter temperatures.

While Yohji’s Fall/Winter 2016 collection did not stop short of impressing us, we felt that it was one of his more subdued and wearable ones that we’ve seen in a while.
