TAIPEI TRAVEL DIARY

You might have recently saw my Instagram posts about traveling to Taiwan. This is not my first time traveling to Taiwan, but this Taiwan trip was by far my favorite Taiwan trip with Evangeline. We’ve been finalizing all the schedules, meetings, projects and so on. Recently I am working on a personal project for which I have a deadline in just a couple of days, spending my nights trying to finish it! Seriously can’t wait to tell you more about it. Since we travel that much, we had the chance to discover some truly amazing places around the world. For this Taipei travel post, it's more about food! Oh yes! I would like to introduce you some of my favorite restaurants in Taipei. I know that some of you might know some famous food spots in Taipei. But I think my food spots you guys might interested to look up. Honestly who doesn't like a good recommendation?

北村家くるみ小料理屋 - Kitamurake Japanese Bar.

I highly recommended their Sake-Steamed Clams soup. I am a big fan of this particular soup and this is a very common dish at an izakaya. But their soup is boozy, briny and you can actually taste the natural flavors and sweetness of the clams. Also their grilled shrimp, miso beef stew and deep fried beef skewers is absolutely delicious!

Good atmosphere and food they served. "Fika" generally means to have a break with coffee. Fika Fika is one among many awesome cafes in Taipei. With a clean modern designs and quiet location make for a great coffee break. I have tried a lot of coffee in Taipei and this is the best one. The cafe is hidden within the alleys but still easy to find.

史記精緻鴛鴦鍋 Shih Ji Double Hotpot

It's only nice if you like spicy and hotpot. We ordered two different types of broth. One is spicy herbal broth, another one is herby broth. The broth has lots of herbs and I prefer their spicy herbal broth, it's not only spicy and the richer flavor of herbs. The longer it cooks, you can taste the sweetness of the spicy soup. Most importantly the meats and veggies they served is fresh.

度小月擔仔麵 Tu Hsiao Yeh Peddler Noodle

The restaurant served traditional Taiwanese food. I would definitely recommend getting some of the classic recommendation on the menu. We ordered their popular dishes like peddler noodle, minced pork rice, clam soup and other appetizers. I have to say the food is so delicious, especially the peddler noodle and the minced pork rice. The portion is a little bit small but it's enough for one person.

VG Café is a cafe and also a bar serving fusion cuisines and house cocktails. We went there just for drinking, because it's got very nice ambiance.

串場居酒屋 Kushi Bar

This is a must go when you visit Taipei. Kushi Bar serves up fusion izakaya style japanese dining experience which is a different experience for us. Not to mention the food is so delicious! We gave them a thumbs up!
